Award Ceremony
The annual Shaping the Future Sponsorship Program Award Ceremony serves as a platform to showcase the creative work of participants, engage in meaningful discussions about the causes and consequences of racism and hatred, and facilitate connections and conversations between equity-seeking groups and industry leaders from our partnering corporate organizations.
Shaping the Future Sponsorship Program
Students, using their chosen forms of expression, will showcase their vision of a future free from systemic racism (specifically Anti Black racism). A future that embraces cultural pride and fosters self-worth by celebrating the Black experience. We encourage active participation of Black students within these teams, who will collaborate in groups of 1-5 to prepare their submissions.
The Shaping the Future Sponsorship Program offers the following support to its participants:
Scholarships and financial aid for post-secondary education based on the evaluation of program submissions.
Coordination between participants and mentors representing various industries.
Access to a virtual learning series, training programs, workshops, co-op opportunities, or internships done in collaboration with sponsor organizations.
Access to social programs addressing mental health and social skill development.
Selected students either attend Canadian high schools or are pursuing equivalent educational certification in Canada within targeted communities across the nation.
Our mission with the Shaping the Future Sponsorship Program is to dismantle racial barriers and empower youth by nurturing a sense of belonging and equal access to status. We aim to provide access to opportunities that may otherwise be out of reach, fostering a fundamental transformation for personal and professional growth.
The program offers comprehensive support with a focus on youth advocacy, employability, and mental health access for participating students.
