Shaping the Future Programs

At ABEEL, we strongly believe that empowering and educating both present and future generations is crucial to creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive society. To this end, we organize programs tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of our participants, helping them better prepare for their future.

We work with schools and sponsoring organizations to achieve the following:

Via our Shaping the Future High School Program (SFHSP), students are given the opportunity to imagine the world anew- a world in which there is equity for every member of an underserved community, and thereafter through youth advocacy, employability, and mental health access, they are given the tools to turn that dream into reality.

Via our Shaping the Future Mentorship Program (SFMP), we connect participating youths (Including students from our marquee program – Shaping the Future High School Program) to the pool of mentors from the participating organizations

Via our Shaping the Future Work-placement Program (SFWP), we provide youth (Including students from our marquee program – Shaping the Future High School Program) access to work placement within leading organizations.

So far, our programs have been implemented in partnership with the following school boards: Toronto, Edmonton, Ottawa-Carleton, Halifax, and school districts in British Columbia (Surrey, Langley, etc.)
For all our programs, our youth participants are Black and Non-Black youths who have shown intentional steps in embracing the Black Experience (including via ABEEL's Shaping the Future Sponsorship Program)
